Industry Experience:
Annetta began her marketing and event coordination experience with Indian Country before 1991. As a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, she served as President and Executive Director of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma (AICCO).
Annetta served as coordinator of the Gathering Business Summit during her time with AICCO. The event provides networking, marketing, and business “matchmaking” opportunities for statewide Native-owned businesses.
Her AICCO work included:
- Program coordination
- Membership drives
- Scholarship awards
Annetta’s role with the AICCO also expanded into coordination of Leadership Native Oklahoma – an eight month program for enhancing the leadership skills of Native American business leaders.
Annetta is a recognized advocate to government agencies and Native-owned businesses on a state and national level. Her capabilities support the goals of growing and developing tribal economies, and building nation-to-nation relationships.
Her scope of experience extends to other Native American initiatives:
- Organizer and Executive Director for the Jim Thorpe Native American Games – engaging over 1700 Native American athletes across 10 sports.
- Assisted with coordination for the Nike N7 (the Native American brand of Nike) sports summit at Nike World Headquarters in Oregon – promoting the benefits of sports and fitness for Native American students.
- Serves on the National Advisory Council for the Carlisle Indian School Project – a national non-profit organization created to build a heritage center and permanent memorial to Native American students who attended Carlisle Boarding School in Pennsylvania.
Annetta also has experience with professional and collegiate sports, professional rodeo, equine events, and radio and television.
